Langtang-Valley Trek:

The great peak of Langtang Lirung (7246m) dominates the upper valley and straddles the Tibetan border, in spring to spot the various birds and blooming of flower makes the trip more beatifies the trek. The trail goes through tropical forest and by evening put you in the middle of a freezing alpine landscape. Stunning views of Langtang Lirung (7245m), Ganesh Himal(7146m) and Dorje Lhakpa(6990m) peaks are the reward for the trekkers.

Day 01

Arrival at Kathmandu (1350m)
Transfer to hotel.

Day 02

Free day in Kathmandu (Option: Valley tour)

Day 03

Kathmandu to Syabrubensi (1460 m/ 7-8 hrs drive):
After breakfast we get into the bus to start our journey. It takes about 7to 8 hours by jeep via Trishuli Bazar, Dhunche Village and to reach Syabrubensi.
On the way at Kakani, excellent views of Annapurna II, Manaslu and Ganesh Himal. Lodge at Syabrubensi.

Day 04

Syabrubensi – Syarpa Gaon (2565 m./ 7-8 hrs):
The trail follows the left bank of Bhote Koshi, ascend the steep trail and later on narrow path to the left which leads to Syarpa Gaon. The trail is through the cultivated field, climbing to the Tibetan village of Kakdingma, where very few reside. Soon, you start ascending leaving Bhote Koshi behind, and still long climbing up reaching to the ridge called Bhanjynag ends the Bhote Koshi. After enjoying the scenery around start descending having the views of Gosaikund ahead, descending down with the wind and from the main ridge comes to the small mountain village of Syarpa Gaon. This will be the perfect place to halt for the day. We stop overnight here.

Day 05

Syarpa Gaon- Ghora Tabela (3010m/ 6 hrs):
After a short distance from the start point you approach the riverbeds, following the stream and climbing up for a short while you come to the Lama Hotel (2400 m). Now we enter the forest from which you occasionally can catch glimpses of Langtang Lirung. The trail is gentle ascent and the elevation gradually increases. The short steep climb of the hill from the river path, the valley gets widened and soon you are at Ghora Tabela (3010 m). Due to the earthquake destruction we go little further to have a overnight sleep in the newly built lodge.

Day 06

Ghoda Tabela – Kyanjin Gompa (3730 m/ 6 hrs).
The trail ascends gradually, as the valley becomes a classic wide U shaped glacial valley. The path in the meadow and steep ascent will come to see rocky Yala Peak (5033 m) and through two hamlets Thangsep & Chamki. Reaching here and having the nice views of Yala Peak & Ga (6387 m). We descend, crossing streams and climbing past several water driven mills, walls and prayers wheel to Langtang Valley (3350 m), once a large settlement but due to the disaster struck in April earthquake in 2015 has lost its glory, but, slowly coming up to normalcy. We pass the Langtang village and head towards Kyangjin. The trail climbs onto a ridge dominated by a large chorten and a long row of mani walls, then gradually climb and pass through the village of Mundu & Sindum, then continues through yak pastures of Yamphu (3640 m) as the valley widens.
After crossing Laja Khola and climb a moraine to a view point where Kyanjin Gompa appears. The trail through rock and climb toward Gompa and with short descent to a large cluster finally we come to Kyangjing Gompa, also famous for producing the 7000 Kg of Cheese per year. We check in at the lodge.

Day 07

Tsergo Ri Hike (4984 m/ 7-8 hrs)
It is whole day tour doing Tsergo Ri hike. Its tiring ascent but worth doing once you reach the top witnessing stunning panoramic view. Back to Kyangjing Gompa for sleep.

Day 08

Explore-Relax around Kyangjin:
This can be also be an extra day using as a relaxing around or enjoying the surrounding in slow pace like visiting the famous cheese factories, taking hot coffee in the bakery nearby. Or we can hike up to Langtang LIrung or to Kyagjing Ri (4773 m) for marvelous view. Back to the lodge for the night.

 

Day 09

Kyanjin Gompa – Lama Hotel (2470m/ 7-8 hrs).
Retreat your trail back.

Day 10

Lama Hotel – Thulo Syabru .(2230m/ 5-6 hrs).
Gentle easy walk up & down to Thulo Syabru after taking left trail from Lama Hotel, right trail goes to Syarpa Gaon.
You continue down the valley crossing the Langtang Khola just before the village of Bamboo. You will contour round the head of the valley and Thulo Syabru will come into view perched atop of a ridge. You drop down to cross a bridge and then climb up through terraced fields and farm houses to reach this pretty village, Thulo Syabru, a Tamang Village offering a last nice views of langtang & Ganesh HImal.

Day 11

Thulo Syabru - Dhunche (1960/ 4 hrs).
First part of trek is a steep climb through forests of oak, fir and rhododendron to the top of a ridge. From here it is only a short descent to Brabal. Beyond Brabal continue descends about 1.30 hrs then you reach at Thulo Bharkhu (1860m) and to Dhunche through the motor road. Today you enjoy with beautiful scenery of Tibetan mountains and Ganesh Himal. After Thulo Bharkhu you may level walk until to small stream below the Dhunche after that gently ascend to Dhunche (1960m), where you will spend the last night with nice dinner & thanking your trekking crew.

Day 12

Drive Dhunche -Kathmandu
We come back the same road that we did in our start of the trek. 6-7hrs drive.

Day 13

Departure
Transfer to airport for final departure.

Service includes:

  • All transfer in a Non Air conditioned private vehicle.
  • 3 nights in tourist class hotel in Ktm on Breakfast basis (same hotel where Jordi Tosas used to stay).
  • 09 days trekking on tea house basis.
  • Accommodation on available lodges during the trekking .
  • 3 fixed meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner) suggested by guide during trek.
  • National park fees & TIMS fee.
  • One English speaking guide (Sirdar).
  • Porters (1 porter for 2 members) one porter is allowed to carry maximum of 25kg of total weight.
  • Daily wages of Nepali staffs, meal and accommodation.
  • Insurance of guide & porter.

Service Excludes:

  • Lunch/dinner in Kathmandu.
  • Boiled or mineral water, soft & hard drinks during the trek.
  • Laundry, telephone calls, emergency evacuation if required, Donation, tips.
  • Extra expenses due to road blockage/land slides/natural calamities/strikes.
  • All personal nature expenses

Please note:

Clients are suggested to give maximum of 12 Kg. of personal luggage to the porter.
